If you want
a tile setting that is even and balanced out you need certain tools that are
essential for the job. The list of tools include:
- Chalk line
- Trowel in the shape of a square one
- Grinder
- Tile leveling spacers
- Mortar
- Bucket
- Sponge and
- Brush
Once you
gather all these tools, just follow the steps below to ensure that the tiles
are set properly.
- Take the chalk line and make a mark across the room on both the ends. Now look at the mark to see if there are any kinds of variations. Mark any peak and valley that you find. This will give you an idea of the uneven places on the floor.
- Now that you know which is the peak and which are the valleys, your next step will be to measure the depth of the valley. You need to know how deep they are.
- Take the brush to remove all the dirt and dust as well as the debris. Use the sponge to wipe the floor. A wet sponge will soak up all the dirt.
- Mix the mortar so that the consistency is perfect. It should be neither too thick nor too watery.
- Use the trowel to fill up the dips. You need to make the floor even before you start to put the tiles.
- The grinder will help you to even out any hump on the floor.
- Once all these are done, start placing the tiles using the tile leveling spacers. These spacers will ensure that there is equal spacing between all the tiles. Once the setting is semi-dry, take out the spacers for the tiles to set properly.
